Is IQOS an e-cigarette?
No. Heat-not-burn products like our IQOS are different from e-cigarettes because they heat tobacco, instead of flavored e-liquid (with or without nicotine) typically found in e-cigarettes. The concept behind IQOS is to allow adult smokers to experience tobacco that resembles smoking a regular cigarette to look and feel, but without burning the tobacco.
How does IQOS work?
IQOS is an electronic device that heats tobacco, rather than burning it, to produce a nicotine-containing tobacco vapor. The IQOS HeatControl™ Technology controls and regulates the temperature to prevent the tobacco from combusting.
IQOS only works with our specially designed tobacco sticks called HEETS. HEETS tobacco sticks consists of real tobacco, which is carefully selected and processed. The heatstick is evenly heated from the inside delivering consistent taste and a cigarette-like experience, without any fire, ash and smoke.
How do e-cigarettes work?
There are many types of e-cigarettes. They vary in size, performance and customization options, and while some are reusable other are disposable. However, most of them work according to the same principle and with similar components.
E-cigarettes are electronic devices that generally operate with a battery and heat liquids to produce an aerosol or what some users refer to as vapor. There are many kinds of liquids used for vaporization in e-cigarettes. When the e-cigarette is activated a battery-powered heating element heats and vaporizes the liquid from a tank. The vaporized liquid is then inhaled by the user via a mouthpiece.
