It took us 18 non-clinical and 30 clinical studies involving thousands of participants to gather the data. These scientific assessments gave us the answers we needed to develop IQOS.
This is how IQOS works.
IQOS ILUMA uses SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ and IQOS HeatControl™. This technology heats tobacco at a lower temperature without combustion.
This creates a vapor of tobacco taste and nicotine without the fire, ash or smoke-smell. The tobacco vapor consists instead of water and glycerin.
It’s a simple change. IQOS only heats tobacco to 350°C to release the taste and nicotine - without combustion or secondhand smoke.
